What's it all about?

Industry training graduations are all about recognising achievements and giving families, friends and employers the opportunity to celebrate the success of industry trainees and modern apprentices who have achieved their qualifications in the last year.   A graduation ceremony is also time for the regional Mayors, their Councillors and Industry Training Organisations (ITOs) to thank employers for their commitment to training.

Why attend a graduation?

Graduate of the Year 2010

To celebrate success and acknowledge achievements.   Being a part of a graduation is an important part of recognising your achievement.   It's like the final step in gaining your qualification and the first step into your future as a qualified person.    The government, your regional council and your ITO think you deserve the chance  to share your success with your family, friends and employers.    It is time to stand up and take a bow alongside your fellow industry achievers.

Who are the graduations for?

If you have recently completed a National Certificate qualification with an ITO, you may be eligible to attend a graduation ceremony.

Who organises the graduation?

There are many people working behind the scenes ensuring that your graduation is well attended and a great success.    Graduations are hosted by our regional Mayors, in collaboration with ITOs.    Industry Training graduations are a Mayors Taskforce for Jobs event.   The Mayors Taskforce is a network of Mayors from across New Zealand who are committed to promoting industry training as a great career option.

In the Nelson-Tasman region the graduation event is coordinated by the Nelson Regional EDA, together with the Nelson City Council and Tasman District Council.
